These are NOS real-deal germanium 1N270 diodes made by ITT. Perfect for that Octavia circuit you've been thinking about building.
A customer reached out to us because they had too much backstock -- they've been using these with no problems. Here's what they have to say:
"We also used them as soft clipping diodes . . . on fuzz pedals to ground at the end of a circuit to add compression and soft clipping, too. The easiest is on the outer lugs of a Volume pot in, say, a Fuzz Face, with the cathode stripe to ground in a standard polarity circuit. Also good for Klon(e)s. ITT is a great brand and never had a single of these dead. Went through many thousands per year for a decade. Always sought out this brand."
