Dust covers, dust caps, seals . . . whatever you call them, these clear plastic shields do more than just protect your components from dust, solder flux, and other debris that can compromise the life of your pots. They also keep those wily pots from accidentally shorting against other components in your build! Small notches along one side of the cover allow space for the terminal lugs or pins to fit snugly.
Sure, you could use foam or tape to cover your pots, but for less than a dime a piece you can save yourself time and maneuverability (hello, those of us with larger fingers!) and have a cleaner-looking gut shot.
